Linda Danko (nee Thorley) went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the age of 80.
She joins in peace and eternity her parents, Robert and Joyce Thorley, and her beloved husband, Edward “Eddie” Danko.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children: Mark Sprengel, and Michael (Brenda) Sprengel; dear brothers: Thomas (Shirley) Thorley and William Thorley; treasured grandson, Logan Sprengel; adored nieces and nephews: Tim Thorley, Todd Thorley, Tammy Vogel, Trulie Campbell, Sandy Thorley, Bill Thorley, and Brian Thorley; and numerous great nieces, great nephews, extended family, and friends.
Linda was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Hammond since 1960, spending her time there not only in prayer and praise, but also teaching Sunday School and acting as a greeter. She enjoyed taking trips out to Amish settlements to immerse herself in the culture and do some shopping. She loved all things Disney, and spent many happy hours cooking, relaxing with her cross stitching, and watching old westerns.
She always had a smile and kind word for everyone and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2024, from 9 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, IN). Brother Roy Moffitt officiating. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, IN.
