Rest in peace Alan. I remember you from the East side of Gary and my time in Northwest Indiana as a Special Agent with the IRS Intelligence Division (Criminal).
I am so sorry to hear of Al’s passing. Although I first met Al when he was part of the old commodities group managed by Bob Thorn, it was I became a case manager that I had the chance to work closely with him. I assumed the position with no experience as a team coordinator or team member in the Coordinated Examination Program. Al went out of his way to help me in my new job, and I thoroughly enjoyed my trips to Northwest Indiana to visit on his cases. He was incredibly supportive and well liked not only by others in the IRS, but also the personnel from the companies to which he was assigned. My deepest condolences to his family.
