Doris Mansfield, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2024. 

Doris was born on November 5, 1928 in Wecota, South Dakota to William and Emma Backens. After marrying Don, they moved to Gary, Indiana and remained in northern Indiana until spending their final years at Hoosier Village in Indianapolis. Doris was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Doris is survived by her daughters: JoDee (Thomas) Grau, Toni (Arthur) Killinger and Kathy (Peter) Slowik: grandchildren, Elizabeth (Michael) Wegner, Amy Stephenson, Don (Sheena) Killinger, Brooke Slowik and Constance (Andrew) Malone: 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Don Mansfield.

A private graveside funeral service for the family will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Calumet Park Cemetery.
