Vera Taleff
Vera Taleff, age 90, of Crown Point, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 1, 2024. She was born on June 8, 1934, in Capari, Macedonia, to parents Lazar and Marija. She immigrated to the United States with her husband, Mirche Taleff, and their son in 1958. They were married for over 60 years.
Vera was a dedicated employee of Anco Company for over 20 years. She was an esteemed founding and lifelong member of St. Peter and Paul Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral in Crown Point and a very active church member. She showed unwavering love, admiration, and devotion for her grandkids and always made sure to help whomever she could. Vera was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. She loved her family (especially her grandkids), cooking, baking, her church, her flowers, and her garden.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Mirche; sons, Talë and Lupcho; great-grandkids, Deklan Taleff and Emilia Scott; parents, Lazar and Marija; siblings, Metodija, Peco, Sofija, and Dragica; and her sister, Mica.
Vera is survived by her son, Tony Taleff; two brothers, John and Tome, and sister Eva; granddaughters, Tanya Scott and Natalia Taleff; grandsons, Mirche, Talë , Robert Taleff; great-grandsons, Elijah, Damien, and Malakai; daughter in law Cveta. She is also survived by many other family members (nieces, nephews, and relatives) in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Macedonia. Vera will be dearly missed and fondly remembered; her kindness, empathy, and capacity to bring joy to those around her will never be forgotten. She will forever reside in our hearts. May her memory be eternal.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the S. S. Peter and Paul Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral, 9660 Broadway, Crown Point, beginning at 10 a.m. Funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., officiated by Fr. Georgij Gligorov and Fr. Aleksandar Mitrov.
