Ben H. Boyd, age 89 of Merrillville, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024 with his family by his side. Ben was worn in Williamsburg Kentucky and in 1952 he settled in Merrillville IN. He was married to his wife Robbie for 60 years, they raised their family together in Merrillville. He was a retired employee of US Steel with 45 years of dedicated service. 

Ben was a peaceful, kind soul who loved to read his Bible, dance, work and fish but especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his kind and easy going nature.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Robbie; parents Ben and Ellen Boyd; siblings Fran Hill, Nancy Lawson (Lonnie), and Samuel (Jeanette) Boyd. 

Ben is survived by his three loving children – Ricky Chandler (Willy) of Crown Point,  Kevin (Rhonda) Boyd of Crown Point, Brenda (Rick Soohey) Boyd of Wheatfield; his beloved grandchildren Kristi (John) Foreman, Tracy (Tim) Johnson; Brandon (Yumiko) Wallace, Amy Wallace, Kevin (Kyrie) Boyd Jr, Ben Boyd, Nick (Jolie) Boyd, Bradley (Jacey) Boyd, Madison Boyd, Dustyn Boyd, Ricochet Boyd and 15 adored great grandchildren; and his siblings Vernie Hill of Portage, Thelma Gilmore of Williamsburg, KY, Nadine Jocelyn of Williamsburg, KY and Vernon Hill age 101 of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 9am to 11am at the Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft St Merrillville, IN with Funeral Service beginning at 10:30 am, Pastor David Buche officiating.
