Mladen Stosic, age 84 of Griffith passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 18, 2024. Mladen was born in Stulac, Serbia and immigrated to the United States in 1975 by himself for a better opportunity for his family back home. A year and a half later, his wife, two children, and his mother came to America to be with him. Mladen was a member of St Archangel Michael Orthodox Church in Lansing, Illinois.  He retired from Republic Steel after 12 years of service, and ventured off to own his own family bakery, Continental Bakery, on the South East Side of Chicago for ten years.

Mladen is preceded in death by his parents Stanoje and Branislava Stosic, sister Zivka Djordjevic, sister Javorka Stevanovic, and brother Slobodan Stosic.

He is survived by his loving wife of  61 years Dragica; two beloved children Srdjan (Mara) Stosic and Olivera Petric (Milan) grandchildren Nina and Marko, and brother Rodoljub Stosic, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed watching his Serbian TV programs, his garden, playing his flute, and most of all, loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Visitation for Mladen will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10am St George Serbian Orthodox Church, 905 E. Joliet St, Schererville, IN with Funeral Service beginning at 11am. V. Rev.
