Esther Mendoza, 93, of Indiana Harbor & Merrillville, passed away on November 1, 2024 peacefully at her home.

She grew up in the harbor and attended East Chicago Washington and was a graduate of the 1950 class. She worked at Inland Steel for many years, also being a homemaker.

Esther is preceded in death by her father, Refugio; her mother, Florencia and her step-mom, Leonarda Flores.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years: Luis, her children: Juan, Mark, Christine, Gerald, and their spouses; 6 grandchildren: Daniel, Richard, Victoria, Steven, Mark, and Brittany; 6 great grandchildren and many great friends and their families throughout the years.

A visitation for Esther will be held on November 6, 2024 from 10AM-12PM with a rosary service at 12PM. All services will be held at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland Street, Gary, IN 46408. Entombment will be held at Calumet Park Cemetery.
