Fernando Jimenez, age 69, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, January 13, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Fernando is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Sylvia, daughter of Gregorio and Lucia Uvalle; father to his children, Jaime Jimenez, Javier Jimenez, Priscilla Jimenez, and Angelica (Michael) Niaves; extended family members, Christina Hernandez and Will Lee Ray; grandfather to, James “pumpkin”, Syrina, Clarissa, Michael, Ruben, Jessi, Tomas, Matthew, Andrew, Nate, Ethan, and Evan; great-grandfather to, Carson, Peyton, Cohen, Joplin, Kalayah, Michael, Mateo and Ny’Aire; devoted brother to his sister, Rosie Jimenez, loving brother-in-law to, Juanita (Patrick) Brodan and Maria (Rudy) Costello; many nieces, nephews, bandmates and friends who will dearly miss him.
Preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Carmen Jimenez; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Hector Alvarado; and brother Jaime.
Fernando worked as a chemical engineer for over 28 years. He was a member of the Carpenters Local Union 599 and a graduate of Valparaiso University, where he earned his degree in music education. Fernando called several churches home. He loved the Lord and followed wherever the Lord led him. He was a true disciple of Christ. He was an extremely talented musician who played several instruments in several churches. He was a carpenter by trade and loved any projects that included his children. Fernando was a proud father and grandfather, who loved his children deeply and quietly. He will be remembered always as a special kinda dad who leaves behind a gaping hole in the fashion industry.
