REMEMBERING

Amy Marie Oskins

1976

2025

Amy Marie (Rodgers) Oskins, 48, of Merrillville, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, March 9, 2025, surrounded by loving family. She was born on November 24, 1976, in Oakland, CA, to Robert Rodgers and Diana (Bryan) Shulik.

Amy is survived by her loving fiance, Richard Graziano; beloved children, Timothy Graziano, Richard Graziano Jr., Corey Graziano, Cameron Oskins, London Graziano-Lee, and Serena Oskins; grandchildren, Greyson Lee, and Michael Lee; father, Robert Rodgers; mother, Diana (Timothy “Daddy Tim” Schutt) Shulik; sisters, Marisa Rodgers, and Lauryn Schloemer; fur-babies, Mariah, Lili, Archie, Kylo, Chino, and numerous kitties; loyal EMS family from Elyria, OH, Orange Co., NC, and Bertie Co., NC; and a loving host of extended family, friends, and acquaintances.

Amy was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Oskins in 2006, and maternal grandparents, Dallas and Lois Bryan.

Amy was employed as a paramedic for many years, working for Lifecare in Elyria, OH, and moving on to work in Orange and Bertie Counties in North Carolina. Recently, she was in her second semester at Lakeland Community College in Ohio where she was studying to become a Nurse Practitioner, hoping to land a career working in the ER. Her dedication and courage to serve those in her communities at the most crucial times was something that she held near and dear to her heart.

In her spare time, Amy could be found crafting, whether it be making beautifully intricate wreaths or crocheting afghans and other items for those around her. As her beloved son and best friend, Timothy, would say, Amy’s goal was “to make things nice and beautiful”.

Amy will best be remembered as a fiercely loving soul who would help those in need and was devoted to family and friends. She, along with the love and joy she shared, will be deeply missed by those whose hearts she touched throughout her life.

Cremation has been chosen and a private family service will be held at a later date in Ohio to honor Amy’s incredible life.

Amy and I were good friends in high school. We reconnected in EMS. There were times we didn’t see one another for years, but when we did meet up, it was like no time had passed at all. Always a good friend, she will be missed by many.

I didn’t give birth to Amy, but the moment we met, we clicked. Henceforth I was her Mama & she was my BabyGirl.

She texted or called me twice a week to check on me & tell me what was going on in her life.
I cannot put into words how much I’m going to miss those calls & texts.

I’m glad I have all those texts & messages saved so I can go back & read & re-read them.

BabyGirl, I’m so thankful for our last conversation on Thurs night before you left us.

You were so happy!! You had made As on your clinicals. Of course you did!!

We were making plans for you to come visit me during break between semesters.

Alas, that will never happen. I will however come to be with you one day.

Until then,BabyGirl, please rock my 4 Angel babies and play with all our Furbabies who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

I love you BabyGirl more & the mostest.
Mama 🤗 😘 🤗 😘
