Bobby Lee Trowbridge of Portage, Indiana (previously of Hobart, Indiana and Rockville, Indiana), passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the age of 95. Bobby was born on October 25, 1928, in Bicknell, Indiana, to Ollie and Ruth (nee Morgan) Trowbridge, both of whom preceded him in death. In September of 1946, he married D. Lucille Rice, who also preceded him in death.
Bobby proudly served in the US Army and was a member of American Legion Post 48 and 502. He was a lifetime member of the Free and Accepted Masons in Rockville, Indiana, and a part of the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute. He worked as a mill mechanic at Inland Streel before retiring after 33 years of dutiful service.
Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Myrtle Trowbridge; daughters: Tresa (David) Addison, Gale Zaragoza, Carolyn Cobbs, Patricia Jones, and Jacqualyn (Deondre Sr.) Fuller. He is also, survived by his dear sister, Lavada Hinshaw, and brother, Thomas Trowbridge. Bobby will surely be missed by his host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends.
Funeral services including military honors and masonic service will be Friday, October 11, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with family hour from 12:00 until time of service. For information, call 219-940-3791.

So many childhood memories of jumping off bridge and swimming and will always cherish the family holidays and times we shared. We will miss you Grandad.
Rest in peace Mr. Trowbridge. I wasn’t fortunate enough to know him well but did know him well enough to tell through our encounters that he was a good father and husband. Thank you for your service to our country as well.
