Gregory George Peyovich age 73, passed away at home, peacefully, November 4, 2024 after years of a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Greg was a 1969 graduate of Hobart High School and served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a welder at US Steel Gary Tube Mill with 18 years of service and was also the owner of South County Maintenance.
Greg loved working on old vehicles, drag racing, hunting, and the Chicago Bears.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Dorothy Peyovich; in-laws Melvin and Helen Homeier. Sharon Butler, and Hermon Eickleberry.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Sandy (Homeier) Peyovich; proud daughters Amanda (Rob) Maynard and Rachel Peyovich; beloved grandchildren Robbie and Avery Maynard; siblings Nada (Ken) Buczek, Donna (Milton) Klein, Luke Peyovich, Annette Peyovich, and Milena Peyovich; in-laws Shirley Esboldt, Sue (David) Bedsloe, Sarah Eickleberry; 14 nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews and 1 great nephew and 1 one great nephew on the way. Visitation will be held Monday, November 11, 2024, at the Calumet Park Funeral Chapel 7535 Taft St, Merrillville, IN from 3pm to 7pm with Pomen service beginning at 7pm V. Rev. Aleksandar Novakovic officiating. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, promptly at 10am. Interment Calumet Park Cemetery.
