Jacqueline Manbeck King, 85 years old, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Friday May 17th, 2024, in Merrillville, Indiana. Jackie was born to Herman and Mary Manbeck on September 11th, 1938, in Harrisville, Ohio. Jackie was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School.
Jackie was married to Edwin King, who preceded her in death in 1973. Their marriage produced five children, Edwin King Jr. with two grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, George King with four grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren, Cheryl King with four grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild, Charlene King (Takacs) with one grandchild and two great great grandchildren, and Christina King with five grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. A sixth child, Thomas Webb with three grandchildren, was born from her marriage to George Webb who preceded her in death in 1994.
Jackie’s greatest love was spending time with family and being outdoors tending to gardens and watching hummingbirds. Jackie was also very patriotic and loved the company of good conversation.
A visitation and service for Jacqueline will be held on Monday May 20th, 2024 from 2PM-6PM. All services will be held at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, located at 7535 Taft Street in Merrillville, IN. Messages of support can also be submitted online at mycalumetpark.com.

Jackie was genuine and loving. 14 years ago I was homeless due to a physical relationship with a man. Her and her family helped me and my kids without even knowing us and we have continued a relationship since then. Not to many people open their hearts to strangers, but she was one of a kind like the rest of her family and they did just that. I will never forget her kindness and help during my hardest days. Rest in heaven! You will be missed.
