We were blessed to celebrate her 95th birthday a few weeks ago, on February 11. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Ramon Gonzalez and her youngest daughter, Adalia Gonzalez. Maria Del Carmen is survived by her younger sister, Yolanda Villasana Rosales, nieces, and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, three son-in-laws, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Rosa Maria (Clayborn) Zapata, grandchildren: Jennifer and Rafael. Maria Carmen (Jesse Sr.) Becerra, grandchildren: Jesse Jr. (1st great-grandson, Solstice), Adam, Jeff Memisovski, and Andrew (Tabita and 2nd great-grandson, Noah). Nora Gonzalez
Elisa (Todd) Mata, grandchildren: Veronica (Josh Hunt) and Conrad Mata.
She had a successful career managing a pharmacy for 25 years. But her true calling was a devoted wife and mother. She referred to her daughters as ” Mi Tesoro” (My Treasure). She cared for all her grandchildren as well, she was an exemplary mother, wife, and human being. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. Her Catholic faith embodied her life and her soul.
“Madre Mia, usted desde muy chiquita se procuraba por los demás, primeramente su profundo amor de su madre, su amor de su esposo, sus hijas, sus nietos y nietas y dos bisnietos.”
