Nancy Louise (Keilman) Baraba, 72, of Portage, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at her home. She was born on May 21, 1952, in Gary, to the late Thomas and Dorothy (McDevitt) Keilman.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Krsto Baraba, and beloved son, Nicholas Baraba, whom, as Nancy would often state, was the love of her life.

Nancy is survived by her siblings, Marcia Keilman, David Keilman, Susan (George) Sceniak, Mary (John) Suba, Ray (Linda) Keilman, James (Cammie) Keilman, Janice (Steve Marck) Keilman, and Joanne (Jim Varkalis) Keilman; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a loving host of extended family, friends, and acquaintances.

Nancy was raised Catholic and continued to have a strong faith and love for her Savior throughout her life. She enjoyed attending all family gatherings and being able to reminisce with her loved ones, as family was everything to her.

Nancy, along with all the love and joy she shared, will be deeply missed by those whose hearts she touched throughout her life.

In accordance with Nancy’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 5 PM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft St, Merrillville, IN 46410. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 6 PM.
