It is with great sadness the family of Robert W. Dorsey Sr. announces his passing on November 8, 2024. Robert will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Dorsey; his sons, Robert (Marianne) Dorsey Jr., and Michael (Lisa) Dorsey; granddaughters, Elise and Leah Dorsey; and sister, Carmen (Tom) Athens.
He is preceded in death by his father, Delmar Dorsey; his mother, Jewell (Ted) Elkins; and brothers, Dave Dorsey and Steven Packard.
Robert was known for his tremendous work ethic, showcased by his 35 years working for the Town of Munster Street Department. His reputation for keeping his vehicles and home immaculate is legendary. Being on his own since he was 16, he learned how to take care of himself until he met his beloved wife Wilma at the early age of 20 and they spent 55 happily married years together!
Robert was quiet by nature and his circle was small. His “little family” was the center of his world, and he loved them with his whole heart. He was a handy man that could fix anything, and he took great pride in his ability to do it himself.
He loved his dogs, and cherished his children and grandchildren, but if you ask him what his favorite accomplishment was, it was the life he built with his wife. The two of them grew up together and grew old together – living, loving and laughing with one another deeply and unconditionally then, now and forever.

He was such a great man ,so genuine and kind. Wilma is so sweet as well and I seen how much love they will always have for eachother.
He always took great pride in his yard and he just loved being outside.
