Ronald J. Natelborg, age 92, entered into the gates of heaven on March 19, 2024. He was born on on April 20, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, married Geraldine (Gerrie) Fortuin on March 27, 1953, who survives. Proud father of James (Robin), Rene’ Fennema, Lonnie (Bonnie) , Dean (Kathy) and Kim (Dave) Boss. Grandfather of 18, great grandfather of 42, including Keira Fennema who met him in heaven the following day, great-great grandfather of 1. Survived by sisters, Dolores(John, deceased) Medema and Karen (Peter) Dannevik. Preceded in death by parents, Richard & Sadie Natelborg.
Ronald graduated from Chicago Vocational High School in 1950, where he excelled in basketball. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the US Navy, where he was an airplane mechanic on the deck of the USS Midway, where he traveled the world. Ronald was a carpenter by trade and was a member of 1st Church PCA in Lansing, Illinois, where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
Visitation for Ronald will be held on Thursday March 28, 2024, from 9:30 – 11:00 am at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 W. Taft Street, Merrillville, IN, with funeral services following. Full military honors will be rendered directly after funeral services at Calumet Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to 1st Church PCA in Lansing, Illinois.
