Rosa Maria Sanchez age 69, beloved mother/grandmother passed away surrounded by her family on February 12th, 2025.

Rosa was born in Brownsville, Texas in 1955 to Ignacia Campos Nunez and Antonio T. Nunez. The family moved from Texas to Indiana where many friends and childhood memories were made.

Rosa is survived by her loving children, Roberto (Venessa) Garcia Sr., Maria Wells, Louis (Angelica) Avila; precious grandchildren, Phoenix Judd Wells, Roberto Garcia Jr., Jesenia Maria Garcia and Jorge Elijah Garcia; sister Irma (Jose) Santiago and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Ignacia Nunez; brothers Antonio, Frank, Pedro and Roberto Nunez; sister Yolanda Perez.

Rosa took special joy in spending as much time as she could with grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and having the family over for dinner. Rosa can be remembered for her high spirited personality. She was never afraid to speak her mind, even in difficult situations, but she loved just as passionately. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral is February 28th, 2025 at Rendina Funeral Home (5100 Cleveland St, Gary, IN 46408).

Visitation from 9:00am – 1:00pm.

Funeral Service: 12:00PM

Burial to follow after visitation.

Burial is February 28th, 2025 at Ridgelawn Cemetery (4201 West Ridge Road Gary, IN 46408).
