Victor M. Loza-Del Toro unexpectedly passed away on Oct. 7, 2024, at the very early age of 22. Victor was a passionate, devoted, loving, young man known by many to battle any life struggle that came his way until the very end.
Victor is survived by his wife, Sonia Del Toro; son, Marcelo Del Toro; his three loving cats: Simba, Fasa, and Nala; his parents, Yadira Del Toro and Manuel Loza; his siblings, Luis Loza-Del Toro and Yahaira Loza-Del Toro; his best friend/cousin, Luis Garcia, and many more cousins, aunts, and uncles; 3 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, a niece, two nephews and close friends made along the way. He is predeceased by his grandmother, Maria De Jesus Loza Del Toro; great-grandmother, Esthela Loza de Del Toro; grandfather, Humberto Del Toro; grandfather, Pedro Loza Magallon; grandmother, Maria Garcia Perez; as well as his uncles, Eduardo Loza (Eddy) and Jose de Jesus Zepeda (Chuy).
Victor was born in Merrillville, IN on July 15, 2002, to Yadira Del Toro and Manuel Loza. He excelled beautifully throughout his entire childhood in school, soccer, basketball, track and cross country. Victor maintained the profession of becoming a Barista at Gloria Jean’s Coffees in 2018 where he met his high school sweetheart and now, wife, Sonia. Victor didn’t just compete in soccer, cross country and track in high school but became a proud alumnus of Andrean High School in the year 2020. Soon after, he pursued the career of becoming a 12C, bridge crew-member for the United States Army Reserves, and accomplished becoming a certified 12C soldier in the Army Reserves in 2021. His aspirations of becoming a Drill Sergeant, Airborne Ranger, historian and carpenter unfortunately passed on with him. Victor was extremely proud of his accomplishment of marrying his wife in November of 2021 and carrying his legacy two years later by introducing his son, Marcelo, into the world in May of 2023.
Victor was an unforgettable character who was a fun, loving, bright soul with a beautiful smile that could shine through darkness. Although he was extremely shy, he connected to people through his love for music and spending wholesome time with those he cared for. His motivation to continue on was his family, both immediate and extended, and he tried his best to protect and support them at any and all costs. He was very well known by anyone who came to know him as a kind-hearted, understanding, and forgiving spirit that loved deeply and was deeply loved by all who received the honor to know him. He will be deeply missed, and nothing could, and will ever, fill the void for those who loved him.
